The Willow School

ESMG consulted for The Willow School on their first green construction project in 2002, and we were honored to return to this picturesque campus for their most ambitious project to date.

The Health, Wellness and Nutrition Center is the third phase of green construction at the site, meeting both Living Building Challenge requirements as well as LEED Platinum certification.

The major elements of the building (including timber, stone, and steel) were locally sourced, recycled or reclaimed from existing structures.

ESMG provided the logistics to keep materials separated as commodities rather than using a "single stream" style container which historically results in a significant level of contamination.

With the cooperation of everyone on the project team, The Health, Wellness and Nutrition Center became the largest construction project ever (20,000 square feet) to meet the Living Building Challenge.
